Items of personal information collected

The branch collects “members’” email, phone number, name, ID, and affiliation information. 

The branch collects the names, affiliations, positions, nationalities, contact information, emails, and payment details of “payers and participants.”


Purpose of collection and use of personal information

Purpose of use of “member” information: Personal information of “members” is collected for announcements regarding the use of the branch website, information on various events, and granting permission to write on the bulletin board.

 

Purpose of use of “attendee” information: Personal information of “attendees” is collected to confirm attendance and participation fee payment details for various conferences, seminars, and academic conferences held by the branch, as well as information on scheduled events and confirmation of attendance.

 

How we collect personal information

“Member” information: When a “member” registers on the branch website, necessary information is collected through the membership registration page on the website.

“Attendee” information: When “attendees” apply to participate in various conferences, seminars, and academic conferences held by the branch, the necessary information is collected through the participation application page.


Provision of personal information to third parties

In principle, collected “member” and “attendee” information is not provided to any third party other than the “branch” except for the following items.


1) For processing of participation fee payment

2) When necessary for payment service maintenance

3) When separate consent is obtained from the information subject

4) When there are special provisions in other laws

5) When necessary for investigation of crime and filing and maintenance of indictment

6) When necessary to carry out the court's judicial duties


Retention and use period of personal information

Unless otherwise specified in the law or in special circumstances such as separate agreements with “members” and “attendees,” the “Branch” will retain it while using the services provided by the “Branch” or until the purpose of use is achieved. 

As soon as a “member” requests withdrawal or an “attendee” requests destruction of the “attendee” information registered for participation, the “branch” will destroy all related information. 

 

However, for dispute resolution purposes, attendees' payment information is stored for 5 years.


Personal information protection officer

“Branch” will do its best to protect personal information by designating a personal information protection officer for users’ personal information.
